He (Fred) is passionate about management. She (Josée) is passionate about artistic creation! Their dream?

To establish a vibrant, welcoming flower shop renowned for the quality of its bouquets—that is how the Fleurs² shop, as you know it today, came to be in 2007!

A passion that blossomed right from the start

The founders, who owned the business until February 2020, were a profound inspiration to me. I had been working there for three years, I loved the trade, and when they decided to sell… I jumped at the opportunity.

My story with flowers goes back to my high school years. One of my first jobs was at a flower shop. The creative side, the hands-on work, the personal connection… it all stayed with me. After working in retail for companies that valued neither people nor artistry, I chose to return to the essentials: my local florist. There were no quotas, no pressure. Just one goal: to provide exceptional service, fresh flowers, and unmatched quality.

Even today, we are open seven days a week, with an impeccable flower rotation to ensure that no customer ever receives flowers that no longer meet our standards.

Excellence at the Heart of Our Creations

We never compromise on quality. If a flower doesn’t meet my standards, I simply don’t buy it and it will never make its way into your arrangements, even for life’s most important moments.

Every stem is cleaned, hydrated, and carefully inspected before becoming part of your bouquet. We prioritize locally grown flowers whenever the season allows, but our climate means we also source from elsewhere to bring you the very best, all year round.

Our team loves colour, rich textures, and unique varieties. We listen to your ideas, your budget, and your vision and transform them into bouquets that truly reflect you.

A passionate team behind every bouquet

I have built a strong team of florists, each with years of experience in their craft. Every florist brings their own unique style and personal touch. Your bouquet may therefore vary slightly from one florist to another, but what always remains consistent is our exceptional customer service, the freshness of our flowers, the care we put into every arrangement, and the way we package them to protect them from the elements so they remain pristine until you arrive home.

Since the change in ownership, I have maintained the same core values of quality and service while also introducing new offerings for our customers. My team now creates large-scale weddings where every detail is thoughtfully designed with exceptional precision. With access to rare and exclusive floral varieties, I am able to offer my clients a truly high-end floral experience.

Being open 7 days a week, we specialize in sympathy and funeral arrangements, while also creating bouquets for birthdays, holidays, and all the other occasions that matter.

Our sympathy arrangements remain the ones that touch us the most.

Each piece is created as a work of art and delivered two hours before the service to ensure an impeccable presentation. Because during life’s most important moments, we want to be a source of support—not another thing to worry about.

We understand the importance of saying goodbye. The last thing you should have to worry about is a late delivery or flowers arriving too early and not lasting through the end of the service.

Seasonal inspiration and the beauty of authenticity

Creating with seasonal flowers feels like being a child all over again. Every new arrival fills us with a sense of wonder.

Weddings are especially meaningful to me because I get to set up and bring the day to life alongside my husband. It’s a beautiful reminder of our own little bubble of love. Discovering new venues, new décor, and sometimes even having the privilege of witnessing the vows reminds us that, despite the difficult days, love always finds a way to triumph.

A turbulent restart in the midst of the pandemic

On March 1, 2020, I, Sophie Barros, purchased the shop with my father, Manuel Barros. On March 14, everything closed due to the pandemic.

Access to flowers was extremely limited, yet people needed comfort more than ever. So, we adapted the way we served our customers: taking orders by phone, offering contactless deliveries, and creating arrangements where our creativity had to adapt to the circumstances. Even so, the results remained remarkable.

Then came Mother’s Day, a day I will never forget. The shop was closed, there was a line of customers outside, and I was delivering orders while calling out names through the door, while my team remained inside, masked and ready to do whatever it took to serve our community.

Since that day, we have never slowed down. Our customers saw that even in the midst of a global crisis, we were there for them.

We have remained consistent in our service, our deliveries, and our commitment

A family adventure that has grown

Later that same year, I became pregnant with my first daughter.

Balancing motherhood and running a business was not easy, but I was fortunate to have the best team by my side.

A few years later, my husband joined the journey. He oversees the quality of every stem. My father, meanwhile, is our delivery driver: tireless, cheerful, and always ready to navigate through the orange cones to make sure your bouquets arrive in perfect condition.

This business has become an extension of my family. And that is probably what our customers feel: a shop where love, quality craftsmanship, and people always come first.
